the Author:
Marilyn
Aagaard Martin was an elementary school teacher in Easton, Pennsylvania
for eleven years. Her writing draws upon a deep love of Colorado,
and her own American Indian ancestral background has led her to
investigate the life and culture of the ancient Amerinds upon which
she bases much of her writing. She has been a resident of Indialantic,
Florida for over 30 years and has been writing childrens' books
since 1994.

Horses for the Handicapped:

A
portion of the proceeds of every Friends
Forever book sold is donated to Harmony Farms,
Inc., "Horses for the Handicapped", a therapeutic
riding program. The
program was started in 1992 to provide horse-related activities
to disabled individuals of all ages. |

| Located
on the Duda Ranch in Viera, Florida, the group currently has
62 riders enrolled in the program. Executive Director Pamela
Rogan explains that their goal is to provide a varied program
of activities for those with physical, mental or emotional
disabilities. Equine assisted therapy improves flexibility,
balance, muscle strength, confidence, patience, self-esteem
and provides a sense of independence. To find out more or
